Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has shared details about his recovery following a car accident last weekend, claiming President Donald Trump’s call and promise of the Presidential Medal of Freedom provided him with “the only medicine that will really cure me.”
Giuliani appeared on Laura Loomer’s show, where he revealed Trump contacted him twice after learning of the crash. The former mayor stated Trump informed him he would be honored with the Medal of Freedom, which Giuliani said lifted his spirits “tremendously.” He added, “Mr. President, you’ve given me the only medicine that will really cure me. I feel perfectly fine now.”
Giuliani also credited Trump for saving his life during the COVID-19 pandemic, alleging the president prescribed medications that led to a “full and swift recovery.” On LindellTV, he reiterated that the phone call from Trump “totally cured me” and referred to the former president as “President Dr. Trump.”
The accident occurred on Saturday when Giuliani and his spokesperson, Ted Goodman, were traveling in a rented Ford Bronco on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire. A Honda HR-V struck their vehicle from behind, causing both cars to hit the highway median. Giuliani sustained a fractured thoracic vertebra, multiple lacerations, contusions, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg. Goodman and the 19-year-old driver of the Honda HR-V suffered “non-life-threatening injuries” and were hospitalized.
Giuliani described encountering a woman who flagged them down before the crash, claiming she was being abused by a man. He and Goodman contacted police but declined her request for their phone, offering a ride instead. Giuliani later learned the woman had beaten the man, though investigators stated the domestic violence incident and the crash were unrelated.
Giuliani said he “felt more pain than I ever felt” after the collision, despite both he and Goodman wearing seatbelts. He described the impact as “the hardest I’ve ever been hit in my whole life.” No charges have been filed in connection with the accident, which is under investigation.
