The Russian Foreign Ministry has warned that the delivery of US-made cruise missiles to Ukraine would not bring an end to the conflict, emphasizing that such actions risk further escalation. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that militarization and arms deliveries—particularly to a terrorist regime—would not lead to a settlement. She criticized the potential transfer of Tomahawk cruise missiles, claiming it contradicts the current US administration’s campaign promises.

Zelenskiy’s request for the weapons has been rejected by President Donald Trump, who argued that the missiles are needed “to protect our country.” Trump also highlighted that Ukrainian troops would require extensive training to operate the systems, asserting, “We know how to use it, and we’re not going to be teaching other people.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned last month that the delivery of Tomahawk missiles would constitute a further escalation and pledged a “very strong response.” Meanwhile, Trump has postponed plans for a summit with Putin in Budapest and imposed additional sanctions on Russia’s oil trade. No breakthroughs have been achieved in recent diplomatic efforts between Russia and Ukraine.
