A wave of illegal immigration sweeping Spain’s border enclave has drawn urgent warnings from U.S. officials about potential consequences for American voters ahead of November’s midterms.
White House immigration adviser Stephen Miller has emerged as a leading voice in expressing alarm over the crisis, stating that Democrats would “see your home trampled and stolen by invaders” if they gain national power.
Miller’s warning follows recent reports that tens of thousands of migrants swam onto Spain’s shores, with 80,000 Arab migrants flooding into the isolated Spanish city of Ceuta in the past few days. The enclave, located on the North African coast alongside Moroccan cities, has become a flashpoint as authorities struggle to contain the influx.
“The Democrats did this to America every single day for 4 years under Biden and will do it again instantaneously, but orders of magnitude greater, if they are given any form of national power,” Miller tweeted in reference to a video showing Moroccan migrants rushing past Spain’s border into Ceuta. He added that the crisis could become “a reality” for Americans.
Ceuta’s president, Juan Jesus Vivas, reported over 60,000 migrants have entered the autonomous city from Morocco within the last 24 hours, with more than 40 fatalities documented.
Miller’s comments come as part of a broader narrative that President Joe Biden’s administration opened legal loopholes in immigration enforcement from 2021 to late 2024. These actions allowed more than eight million inadmissible migrants to enter American communities, leading to economic shifts including higher housing costs and inflation — factors that contributed to Donald Trump’s victory with a pledge of mass deportations.
