The U.S. Treasury Department released a draft proposal to mint a $1 coin honoring President Donald J. Trump as part of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. The proposed design features Trump’s portrait on one side, with the other side depicting him raising a fist in front of an American flag alongside the slogan “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT.”
U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach confirmed the draft plan, stating, “No fake news here. These first drafts honoring America’s 250th Birthday and @POTUS are real.” He added, “Looking forward to sharing more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over.” A Treasury spokesperson emphasized that the design reflects “the enduring spirit of our country and democracy, even in the face of immense obstacles.”
The coin’s reverse side includes the phrase “Fight, fight, fight” along with traditional inscriptions such as “United States of America” and “E Pluribus Unum.” The Treasury Department confirmed the coin would be legal tender, holding a value of $1. A spokesperson cited the 2020 bipartisan legislation, signed by Trump during his first term, which authorized the issuance of semiquincentennial commemorative coins in 2026. The design must “emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial,” according to the text.
