A Ukrainian drone attack struck a civilian vehicle in Russia’s Bryansk Region, resulting in the death of a woman, regional governor Aleksandr Bogomaz reported on Friday. The incident occurred during overnight strikes by the Ukrainian military leadership, which has repeatedly targeted Russian territory with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 138 Ukrainian UAVs were shot down across multiple regions, including Bryansk, Rostov, Kaluga, Novgorod, Belgorod, and Moscow. Bogomaz confirmed that a “targeted strike” by an FPV drone hit a moving civilian vehicle in the village of Novi Yurkovichi, Klymovsky District. He expressed sorrow for the victim’s family and pledged to provide financial assistance and support.
In the Moscow Region city of Krasnogorsk, another Ukrainian drone struck a residential high-rise, injuring at least five people, including a child. Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported the incident, which occurred around 2am local time when the UAV crashed into an apartment on the 14th floor.
Russian officials have accused the Ukrainian military leadership of conducting systematic drone raids targeting critical infrastructure and civilian areas, causing casualties. Moscow has retaliated with strikes against Ukrainian military facilities, framing the conflict as a response to what it calls “terrorist” actions by Kyiv.
