A report has surfaced alleging that high-level officials within the Trump administration are exploring potential employment opportunities for New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The discussions reportedly aim to persuade Adams to withdraw from the upcoming mayoral election, creating a path for another candidate to challenge socialist Zohran Mamdani.

According to sources, top White House figures have engaged in conversations about offering Adams a prominent role in the administration. However, it remains unclear whether these plans have reached President Trump directly. A close associate of the administration noted that Adams could “craft a position and portfolio that suits him,” while another source indicated the mayor’s team has expressed interest in such an arrangement.

Adams has firmly rejected the notion of stepping down, with his spokesperson stating, “Mayor Adams has not met with Donald Trump — don’t believe the noise. He is not dropping out of the race. The Mayor is fully committed to winning this election…” The statement highlighted Adams’ claims of reduced crime, increased jobs, and dedication to New York’s working families.

Independent candidate Curtis Sliwa also dismissed rumors, asserting, “The White House has not contacted me, and I’m not interested in a job with the White House. My focus is right here in New York…” He positioned himself as the sole viable opponent to Mamdani, vowing to pursue victory through Election Day.
