Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) faces allegations of physically assaulting his ex-wife, Emily Moreno—daughter of U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno—in incidents that reportedly occurred during arguments over their shared child.

According to the claims, on February 1, 2025, Miller allegedly grabbed and struck Moreno in front of their two-year-old daughter, leaving visible bruising on her arms, elbow, and abdomen. A separate incident took place on June 9, 2024, when Miller was reportedly accused of hurling a pot of boiling water at Moreno during an argument, causing injuries to her chest.

Moreno documented the alleged injuries through photographs taken after the incidents, which she submitted to law enforcement following reports of child abuse. The Bay Village Police Department confirmed responding to a child abuse report dated February 1 and stated that an investigation is ongoing.

Miller has denied all allegations, asserting the claims are fabricated by media outlets he claims have disregarded his team’s responses. After separating in 2024, Miller and Moreno finalized their divorce in June 2025 with joint custody arrangements for their daughter and monthly child support payments of $2,500.

In court filings, Moreno alleged that Miller has engaged in aggressive communication patterns that endanger the well-being of their minor child.
