Joni Lamb, president and co-founder of Daystar Television Network—one of the world’s largest Christian television networks—has passed away.

In a statement released by Daystar, Lamb had been managing serious health matters prior to a recent back injury that compounded her condition. “The back injury led to a more serious medical situation than anyone had anticipated,” the statement said. Despite dedicated efforts from her medical team and widespread prayers, her condition worsened in the final days of her life.

Lamb co-founded Daystar Television Network with her late husband Marcus in 1993. Under her leadership, the network expanded into one of the largest Christian television networks globally, reaching viewers across nearly every country through satellite, cable, streaming, and digital platforms. She spent nearly four decades on-air and behind the scenes, building a ministry that brought the Gospel to millions.

Daystar stated: “With heavy hearts, we share the news that Joni Lamb graduated to Heaven this morning. We know she is in the presence of Jesus, reunited with Marcus, and receiving her reward for a beautiful life lived in surrender to the Lord.”

The network’s base is located in Bedford, a North Texas suburb between Dallas and Fort Worth. The Daystar Board of Directors praised Lamb’s faith and leadership, noting: “Joni’s love for the Lord and for the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning. We grieve her loss and are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”

Her family has requested prayers and privacy. Daystar confirmed its mission remains unchanged today, with Lamb having worked closely with the board to ensure an executive leadership team maintains uninterrupted programming. On-air tributes will follow in coming days.

Lamb and Marcus launched their television ministry in 1985 with WMCF-TV in Montgomery, Alabama, under the name “45 Alive.” They sold that station in 1990 before moving to a larger Dallas-based station, launching KMPX-TV 29 in 1993. The network expanded to include additional stations and was officially established as Daystar Television Network in 1998.

Marcus died in 2021 after 39 years of marriage. Lamb remarried in 2023 to Dr. Doug Weiss, who joined her as a co-host on Daystar.
