A Danville City Councilman was allegedly set on fire in his workplace two months ago, leading to serious charges against a 29-year-old man. Shotsie Michael Buck-Hayes faces attempted first-degree murder and aggravated malicious wounding for the alleged attack on Lee Vogler at Showcase Magazine.

According to court records, Buck-Hayes poured gasoline on Vogler during an incident at the office before setting him ablaze outside the building. During a preliminary hearing in September, Danville Police Sgt. Gerrit Clay testified that Buck-Hayes claimed he targeted Vogler due to an alleged extramarital affair involving his wife.

The case has drawn public attention, with authorities emphasizing the severity of the crime. No further details about the investigation or additional charges have been disclosed.
