Over the weekend, an individual in Portland, Oregon, was found to have aimed a high-powered laser at a Border Patrol helicopter, prompting an FBI investigation. The agency conducted a raid on the suspect’s residence, resulting in the arrest of four individuals, all of whom were identified as illegal aliens.

The FBI Portland Division confirmed that agents searched a home linked to the incident, during which the suspect allegedly directed the laser at the helicopter on September 27, along with another aircraft in the area. The operation led to the arrest of the individual and three others present at the residence. All four were found to be in the U.S. illegally and have since been placed in ICE custody for deportation proceedings.

The FBI emphasized its stance against threats to law enforcement, stating, “The federal government will not tolerate violence against federal officers, nor will we tolerate assaults on personal, commercial, or government aircraft.” FBI Director Kash Patel issued a warning to others considering similar actions, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to upholding the law.

The raid unfolded near the Portland ICE facility, with authorities citing the suspect’s act as a direct threat to public safety and federal operations. The incident has drawn attention to ongoing efforts to address illegal immigration and protect critical infrastructure.
