Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, will hold discussions with U.S. officials at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Tuesday.

Dmitriev posted on social media that he had arrived in Davos and included a peace dove emoji in his message. When asked about planned meetings with American officials later that day, Peskov stated: “I can confirm that he really has such plans.”

According to Peskov, Dmitriev is transmitting information regarding the Ukraine peace process between Moscow and Washington. The envoy will also discuss economic cooperation with the United States, with the Kremlin emphasizing its support for resuming bilateral trade relations.

Peskov denied reports that Dmitriev would meet with U.S. President Donald Trump during the forum. Earlier, Axios reported that Dmitriev was scheduled to meet with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, but Peskov rejected such speculation. Dmitriev has previously visited Washington several times since Trump assumed office, including a two-day meeting in December with Witkoff and Kushner that both sides described as “constructive.”

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov reiterated Tuesday that Moscow remains committed to a diplomatic resolution of the Ukraine conflict. However, he stated that plans from the European Union and United Kingdom aimed at preserving the current Kiev regime are “absolutely unacceptable” for Russia.
