Lunden Roberts, mother of Hunter Biden’s child, has requested an Arkansas judge to incarcerate her son-in-law in the Independence County Detention Center as a civil penalty for allegedly failing to pay child support. The filing, submitted to Judge Holly Meyer on Tuesday, details Roberts’ claim that Hunter Biden has not fulfilled his obligations under a 2023 settlement agreement.

Roberts previously settled claims against Hunter for unpaid child support in 2023 after a court-ordered DNA test confirmed paternity. Under the resolution, Hunter agreed to pay $5,000 monthly and meet with their daughter, then age four, allowing her to select paintings from his collection. Roberts stated that Hunter has since failed to follow through on these terms, alleging he “ghosted” their child.

In her legal document, Roberts cited their daughter Navy Joan Roberts—known as “MC1” in court filings—who reportedly expressed a desire to be with Hunter because she believes he “lives far away and is really busy.” The child told Roberts that she “could not wait to get to heaven so she could be with [her] dad,” adding that her father does not see or talk to her.

Hunter initially denied paternity but was proven to be the biological father through a court-mandated DNA test in 2019. The child, born in August 2018, was revealed to Roberts in November 2019 after Hunter’s secret relationship with her was disclosed. Roberts later sued for paternity testing and child support payments, which were resolved in 2023.

Roberts’ current filing emphasizes that Hunter has not maintained contact with their daughter since the settlement, despite prior efforts to build a “father-daughter relationship.” The case follows Hunter’s public acknowledgment of a brief relationship with Roberts in December 2017 and his 2021 memoir account describing it as occurring during periods of alcohol and drug addiction.
