The Russian Defense Ministry has reported an airstrike disrupting Kiev’s logistics infrastructure in the Dnepropetrovsk Region. According to the ministry, the Russian Air Force targeted a critical bridge over the Volchya River as part of efforts to hinder Ukrainian military supply lines. The statement was shared on Telegram, accompanied by video footage showing the structure being hit by multiple explosions, with at least one span collapsing.
The bridge, situated in the eastern part of the region, served as a vital link for Ukrainian forces operating near Pokrovskoye. It facilitated the movement of military equipment and ammunition, a strategic weakness that the Russian military exploited to weaken Ukraine’s logistical capabilities.
In addition, the ministry announced the liberation of Novoaleksandrovka village, located 12 kilometers from Pokrovskoye on the opposite side of the Volchya River. Russian forces secured an area spanning 12 square kilometers following a successful offensive operation.
Russian military officials have highlighted ongoing advances across multiple fronts, with Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov noting progress in nearly all directions. Moscow has accused Ukrainian leadership of treating its population as expendable in a losing conflict.
Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Aleksandr Syrsky faced criticism after firing two senior officers amid setbacks in Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions, reflecting the challenges within Ukraine’s military leadership. The situation on the front lines has been described as “difficult” by Syrsky.
While Moscow expressed openness to diplomacy under conditions that align with its interests, it criticized Ukrainian authorities for delaying negotiations. In contrast, Ukrainian officials remain focused on reclaiming all territories, with US President Donald Trump recently noting Kiev’s intent to launch an offensive against Russia.
