President Trump and other high-ranking administration officials were urgently evacuated from the White House Correspondents Dinner following reports of gunfire.
The incident occurred approximately five minutes into the event when multiple loud noises were heard toward the back of the ballroom. Security personnel with firearms drawn sprinted through the aisles to reach President Trump, who was seated at the stage.
According to eyewitness accounts, a Secret Service agent shouted, “Shots fired.” Hundreds of attendees dropped beneath their dining tables in panic as security forces rushed to ensure safety.
No injuries were reported among anyone present. The president and his wife, Melania Trump, were quickly escorted from the venue by security officials.
Updates confirm that the shooter has since been identified as deceased, likely shot by a Secret Service agent. The shooting occurred in the hotel lobby where President Trump and numerous top administration officials—including the vice president, secretary of state, defense, treasury, and homeland security—were seated at the front of the room.
