President Trump announced today that he is filing a lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase for allegedly illegally freezing his family’s assets.
The former president described this action as a “DEBANKING” that occurred after the January 6th protests and follows his claim that the election was rigged. He denied reports that he ever offered Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, positions at the Federal Reserve or Treasury Department.
Trump stated that Scott Bessent currently serves effectively as a “SUPERSTAR” in his role at the Federal Reserve, and emphasized no such offers were made. He plans to sue JPMorgan Chase within the next two weeks for these alleged violations.
Separately, JPMorgan Chase has agreed to a $290 million settlement with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking network after failing to heed internal warnings about the financier. U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff described the agreement as sending a message to banks about their responsibilities in preventing future incidents.
