Authorities in California are investigating a theft at a Glendale wedding where a suspect allegedly stole approximately $60,000 in cash and gifts. The individual, not invited to the event, entered a banquet hall during the ceremony and took a box containing the funds before fleeing.
Police responded to a report on August 31 at around 12:50 a.m. at the Renaissance Banquet Hall. The suspect was described as a male in his 40s of Middle Eastern or White descent, with a bald head and medium build. Surveillance footage showed him entering the hall, grabbing a large box, and exiting quickly. Additional footage captured him boarding a black Mercedes SUV that drove away.
The bride, Nadeen Farahat, described the moment the theft was discovered, noting the event came to an abrupt halt. She and her husband recounted the suspect remained at the venue for at least 90 minutes, observing the gathering before committing the crime. Farahat expressed shock at the violation of their private celebration, emphasizing the unsettling presence of a stranger during such an intimate occasion.
The investigation is ongoing, with the suspect尚未 identified. Police have not released further details about the case.
